Physical Education can do much more than keep our children fit. PE is ideally placed to support children’s all round development. As well as developing physical skills, PE teaches children intellectual skills by encouraging them to create their own games and rules. It helps them navigate complex social situations by encouraging them to solve their differences and nurtures their emotional development by developing confidence, self awareness and motivation . PE is important for children’s physical activity and its associated benefits such as increased mobility and better mental health.
