Congratulations to Fionn, Oisín, Crean, Amy and Gareth who were successful in achieving a merit award in the above competition. Their stories were full of imagination, creatively written and beautifully illustrated. They were presented with their award at a ceremony in The Garage Theatre, Monaghan on Tuesday evening, 16th April. The guest speaker, Nicola Pierce, author of historical fiction for children, gave an inspiring talk to all the future budding authors before presenting the pupils with their award. We look forward to seeing their books on library shelves in the coming years.
Congratulations also to Danielius, Finn and Dearbhail who were highly commended in this competition. We are delighted to have many competent, inspiring writers in St. Comgall's N.S. and even if some pupils were unsuccessful in this competition this year we have no doubt that in the coming years their books will be winning awards.
