Continued Professional Development

20th Jun 2022

During our end of year reflection teachers felt that the one area of the PE curriculum that needed development was 'Dance.' During Active Week the pupils throughly enjoyed participating in 'Hip Hop' dance routines with a local dance group 'Fusion Dance'.

Dancing is a great form of exercise, and a love of dance from an early age can help motivate kids to stay active as they grow into adults. Dance classes can increase a child’s flexibility, range of motion, physical strength and stamina. As well as promoting overall health, enhanced development in these areas can help kids with sports and other activities at school and beyond.

Throughout the school year 2022/2023 we will endeavour to expose the children to a range of dance moves and to incorporate dance in our active calendar where possible. Teachers will upskill in the PE strand of 'dance' by sourcing CPD courses in this area.
