Adventure, Exploration and Lots of Fun at Castle Saunderson!
As part of our Active Flag journey, we headed off on an exciting trip to Castle Saunderson Scout Centre for a day packed with activity, adventure and fun!
On arrival, pupils took part in an orienteering challenge across the centre's stunning 34-acre grounds. Armed with maps and plenty of enthusiasm, everyone raced around searching for all 10 orienteering posts. There was great excitement as teams hurried from checkpoint to checkpoint, hoping to be the first back and claim the title of Orienteering Champions!
After all that running and exploring, the adventure continued with a nature trail. Pupils became young detectives as they searched for some of the 20 different tree species found throughout the grounds. They also collected leaves, flowers and other natural treasures to create beautiful nature pictures, showcasing their creativity and appreciation of the outdoors.
The day was filled with laughter, teamwork, fresh air and plenty of happy memories. A huge thank you to Maria Keaney, Centre Manager, for making us feel so welcome and for accommodating our group so well.
We had a fantastic day and can't wait to return to this wonderful outdoor centre for more adventures in the years ahead!
