Science Week 2022

18th Nov 2022

What a busy Science Week we have had here in St. Comgall’s N.S.

To begin with we enjoyed an outing to The Garage Theatre in Monaghan to the “Scientific Sue” science show. Some of our pupils and teachers were lucky enough to be invited on stage to take part in some of the experiments! Can you spot them in the photos?

On Friday the 11th we joined a Dublin Zoo educator to learn about animal life cycles. The pupils were kept on their toes with many interactive activities.

On Monday the 14th we joined “The Science of Discovering Dinosaurs” online crowd cast. Here we heard lots of interesting facts about dinosaurs from a palaeontologist Gavin Bradley. It took us through how palaeontologists find, collect, and identify the remains of the most amazing creatures to ever walk the earth!

On Thursday the 17th we carried out a lot of fun and exciting experiments. Experiments such as Dancing Raisins, Coke Explosion, Rainbow Skittles, Magic Drawings and Flying Teabags. As you can see from our photos and videos the pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experiments. We have learned so much over the past two weeks and have awakened our scientific minds!
